After the feedback from my mock shoot, I changed the whole direction of my final shoot to another theme I had been researching within my Jahnkoy sketchbook, which is the theme of constraint but keeping some aspects of the light and vibration theme.
I changed the location to a urbaner and 'street' location, my model and my styling. To keep the idea of 'spirituality is displaced by religion', I wanted to photography from a lower angle to represent a Godly concept of 'being above'. I also wanted to keep some of the original light and vibration theme by having one of my location themes being a yellow coloured light outside a storage unit I found whilst walking around London, and I feel light and vibration, especially yellow light, have certain connotations to religion and spirituality. For the model, I wanted more movement and drama in his poses and I wanted the styling to be more colourful and layered.
Whilst researching constraint, I also looked at masks, which Jahnkoy also uses, and I created my own mask which I wanted to include in my shoot.
Before shooting I created a concept board to have a clear vision of the shoot:
I think these final images came out very well and were a huge improvement from my mock shoot. I like the colour, styling, the movement of the images and the multiple locations I had and the combination of night and day.
I then looked at laying out my final images in a magazine format:
Overall, I really like the way the final magazine turned out and that I incorporated Jahnkoy through styling and poses and that I still had links to Teeth within the layout of my magazine. However, I do feel I could of connoted stronger links to religion and spirituality within my work.
